Albania's Parliament has elected Rexhep Mejdani, a long-time friend of ICTP, as the nation's President. Mejdani is a Professor of Physics at the University of Tirana, Albania's capital city. His resume lists more than 50 publications, including several articles published in Science. Over the past 10 years, Mejdani has come to the ICTP on 10 different occasions to attend workshops on condensed matter, high-energy and computational physics.
