Several members of the Centre's scientific staff will be taking on new responsibilities at the beginning of the year. And one senior administrative staff member will be returning home. Hilda Cerdeira, a scientist in the Condensed Matter Group, will oversee the ICTP-TWAS Donation Programme. Cerdeira is replacing Hassan Dalafi, a 30-year veteran of the ICTP who is taking a position with UNESCO in Venice. Faheem Hussain, co-ordinator of the Diploma Course in High Energy Physics, will become the head of the Office of External Activities. He is replacing Gallieno Denardo who retired from the Centre last month. And Gianfranco Guerriero, the Centre's Senior Administrator, will be leaving the ICTP to rejoin his family in Rome. He has worked at the Centre for the past eight years.
