This is the first instalment of ICTP's "Highlights" page, a new monthly initiative launched by the Scientific Information Office. "Highlights" is designed to keep ICTP staff, as well as researchers and administrators in nearby institutions, up-to-date on recent and upcoming Centre activities. We'd also like to take this opportunity to introduce Dr. Daniel Schaffer, ICTP's new Communications Director and Editor. Dr. Schaffer comes to the Centre via Knoxville, Tennessee, where he worked as an editor and writer for The University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
