The Working Group for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Alps-Adria Community recently held its annual meeting at the ICTP. The group's goal is to encourage closer ties among scientific research institutions in the Alpine and Adriatic regions. It is particularly interested in promoting more interaction among research institutions and high-tech industries. Discussions were aimed at monitoring ongoing cooperative activities and identifying future projects. Participants called on the group to become more involved with other like-minded institutions, including the Office for the Central European Initiative and Conference of Rectors of Alps-Adria. Those attending the meeting praised the ICTP for helping to spark greater interaction among international scientific institutions.
