Based on discussions at ICTP's Third Adriatico Research Conference on Quantum Interferometry, held last month, a group of scientists have decided to launch a series of experiments designed to test the theories of teleportation. The Centre will serve as the site of their efforts, which could have world-shattering implications for the movement of goods and services. Initiatives include the construction of a teleportation channel in the Main Building Cafeteria that will instantaneously teleport food between the cafeteria's kitchen facilities in the basement and the eating area on the first floor. The goal is to ensure the delivery of meals that are piping hot. Another initiative will entail the teleportation of guests from the Adriatico Guesthouse to the Main Building Lecture Hall. If the latter is successful, conference participants will be expected to arrive to lectures on time.
