GOD'S PLANS" IN PLAIN ENGLISH
Princeton University Press in the United States has announced plans to translate and publish GianCarlo Ghirardi's book, Un'occhiata alle carte di Dio ("A Look into God's Plans"). Originally published in Italian by Il Saggiatore in Milan in 1997, the book has sold about 8,000 copies-a startling figure for a monograph concerning quantum mechanics. Its success is testimony to Ghirardi's ability to convey complex scientific matters in ways that are pleasing to a broad audience. For many years, Ghirardi has served as the Director of the Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Trieste and Head of ICTP's Associates Programme.
