The Eighth Elettra Users' Meeting and Satellite Workshop, "Challenges of Crystallography of Macromolecular Assemblies," will take place at the ICTP from 4 to 6 December 2000. Some 150 participants, from universities, research centres, laboratories and the private sector, will discuss present and future uses of Elettra, the synchrotron light facility located in Trieste's Area Science Park. A workshop on "New Economy and Entrepreneurial Business Creation in Mediterranean Countries" will also take place at the Centre from 4 to 6 December. The event is the first joint venture between ICTP, the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the International Centre for Science and High Technology (ICS).
