An International Workshop on Protein Folding, Structure and Design will be held from 11 to 22 June at ICTP. The activity, which is being sponsored by the Istituto nazionale per la fisica della materia (INFM), will provide state-of-the-art perspectives on experimental, theoretical and computational approaches to this vital topic in biophysics and foster discussions on the challenges and new strategies in the field. Neurologists view protein folding as a critical aspect of the brain's physical makeup. Protein misfolding has been linked to Alzheimer's and Huntington's disease. About 110 scientists from 30 countries are expected to attend the workshop.
