The ICTP, in cooperation with the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), has officially announced the launching of a two-year Master's Degree Programme on Modeling and Simulation of Complex Realities. The first group of young scientists enrolled in this programme, which will consist of 8 students from the developing world, are scheduled to begin their studies in October 2001. The programme will focus on the use of applied mathematics and statistical physics to examine the complex and uncertain realities inherent in real-world problems.
