NEW STAFF MEMBER
Ramadas Ramakrishnan has joined the ICTP Mathematics group. He assumed his position last month. Before arriving in Trieste, he was a professor at the Department of Mathematics, Université de Montpellier II, France. He has also served as a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, USA, and a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Ramakrishnan's research focuses on the interface between geometry and physics. In 1988, he was awarded the Bhatnagar Prize of the Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India's highest science award.
