The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has launched the Year of Physics with an international conference titled Physics for Tomorrow. The conference is being held from 13-15 January at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. ICTP Director, K.R. Sreenivasan, is scheduled to speak at the inaugural session on ‘physics and development.’ More than 1000 participants, including eight Nobel Laureates, are expected to attend.
