Giuliano F. Panza, head of the SAND group, has been appointed honorary professor of the Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration, Beijing, for his “outstading contribution to seismology especially in the field of earthquake hazard and strong ground motion as well as intermediate-term earthquake forecasting.” The awards ceremony will take place in Beijing on 23 July.
