A Chinese delegation, led by Cheng Jinpei, Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), met with the Director’s Special Advisor, Claudio Tuniz, and other ICTP staff on 24 May 2005. Members of the Chinese delegation included: Ma Yanhe, Director General, Department of Basic Research, MOST; Chen Linhao, Director, Europe Division, Department of International Cooperation, MOST; Han Jun, Counselor, Chinese Embassy to Italy; Han Jun, Counselor, Chinese Embassy to Italy; Zhang Hongqi, Officer, Department of International Cooperation, MOST; Ding Minqin, Secretary of Vice Ministry; Sun Chengyong, First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy to Italy; Shi Xingguang, Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Milan. The group discussed possible areas of cooperation between China’s scientific community and ICTP, especially in the area of nano-technology.
