Filippo Giorgi is one of the vice-chairs of IPCC Working Group I
The Nobel Peace Prize awarded today has been split equally between the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Al Gore, Jr. "for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change". ICTP scientist Filippo Giorgi, head of the Earth System Physics section, is one of the vice-chairs of the IPCC Working Group I.
