FEST, the international scientific media fair, opened on Wednesday, 16 April at Molo IV building in Trieste. ICTP is participating with a display of its publications. On the first day, in the afternoon, K.R. Sreenivasan and Clement Onime were among the guests in a round table on science and communication in the developing countries. On the same day, in the Regione Building, Seif Randjbar-Daemi introduced Pervez Hoodbhoy who spoke on "Islam and Science: What went wrong and how to change direction”. Numerous other scientists who have close connections to ICTP are also lecturing and taking part in round table sessions, including Dirac Medallist Luciano Maiani.
