Dr. Hamid Saleem, ICTP Senior Associate 2001-2008, has been appointed Director General of the National Centre for Physics (NCP), in Islamabad, Pakistan. Dr. Saleem works at the Theoretical Plasma Physics Division of the Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology. He is replacing Professor Riazuddin who was DG since the founding of NCP in 1999. NCP is patterned after ICTP in many respects.
