To foster research in the main areas of research at ICTP, the Centre has initiated a new programme of Senior Postdoctoral Fellowships in Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics, Earth System Physics, High Energy, Cosmology, Astroparticle Physics and Mathematics.

The appointments will be for an initial period of three years, extendable for an extra two years upon mutual agreement and availability of funds. The monthly take-home salary ranges from Euro 2,500 to Euro 3,000, depending on the seniority of the applicants.

Candidates should have at least one previous postdoctoral experience and carry out very active and independent research in one of the four areas. The senior postdoctoral positions are named after Ludwig Boltzmann, Vilhelm Bjerknes, Subramanyan Chandrasekhar and Shiing-Shen Chern respectively, who made fundamental and path-breaking contributions to the above research areas.
